He is funny, cute, smart, and we get along together like peanut butter and jelly. He is a felon with not just one, but four felonies, one being serious, plus multiple misdemeanors.This is the second guy I have fallen for with a criminal background and I don’t know how I should handle it.

He is currently attending school to be a veterinary technician and said he is able to get a job in that field regardless of his background, but I am not convinced. I love everything about him, but I know already my friends and family will not accept him with this background and they would tell me I need to get out of this toxic relationship.
Should I stay for the long haul and jump the hurdles with him or flee and never look back?

There are programs that attempt rehabilitation of criminals or for some just the experience of dealing with their crime is enough to make lasting change.
For example, Judge Mathis (of Detroit and now television) was incarcerated as a juvenile but turned around his life based on his mother's interaction with him there.
In these cases, you might want to take into account their basic judgment but do you want to consider such a person a criminal?
Their actions certainly speak differently than someone who intentionally commits a felony.
Over the past seven months he has met many of my immediate family and some of my friends. I have lost a couple friends because of my decision to carry on seeing him. I’ve learnt so much about myself too during all of this, I don’t judge people so quickly anymore, and people need another chance.
These so called have never even spoken to me about Wes and have never even met him. Life is so short, I think if you mess part of it up, you need the opportunity to make the remaining bit worthwhile.
